ACT MATH PREP

My prep class is an innovative approach to improving your math scores that is brilliant in its simplicity. I don’t have to wow you with my math knowledge, I just have to make it easy to understand. I slowly teach you every aspect of your college entrance test from what is on the test to how to prepare. I’m passionate about this class and have gone to great lengths to make it the best way to improve your math scores and remain affordable.

I teach a four hour class that will drastically improve your math scores on the ACT. In my first class, a student improved her ACT math score from 19 to 24. I teach this class online two hours a night, for two nights the week before the next ACT. That’s four hours of live help! I take practice tests and work each problem explaining them one at a time.

Scoring well on your college entrance test is very important and I can help you do your best. It’s all in the preparation.

ACT ENGLISH & READING PREP

The ACT test is not an intelligence test; rather it is a test of your knowledge of the material you learned in 7th, 8th and 9th grade.

The English Test consists of simple usage/mechanic and rhetorical skill questions. Spelling, vocabulary, and rote recall of rules of grammar are not tested.

The Reading Test does not test the rote recall of facts from outside the passage, isolated vocabulary items, or rules of formal logic. Instead, the test focuses on the skills that readers must use in studying written materials across a range of subject areas.

I will teach you how to prepare for and take these tests. I break down the types of questions and tell you strategies of how to approach them. We will take a test together so you can hear me work through the steps. You can ask questions whenever you want.

ACT SCIENCE PREP

The ACT Science section is unique in that it is not a fundamental part of high school curriculum like the Reading or Math. Don’t be fooled; there isn’t a code to crack. In this four hour Science instruction session I will help you understand what it takes to quickly and easily find the correct answers in the information provided. I will demonstrate the different formats of passages and strategies for each type as well as all the different forms of questions that commonly appear on the ACT.

I teach this two hour class the Sunday before the next ACT.

PRIVATE TUTORING

I started helping students with algebra 24 years ago and I have always been able to explain it in a way that is easy to understand and in 2005 I brought my services online. Now I can help you from the safety and convenience of your home.

I typically work with private clients by having them scan their algebra problems and email them to me. Then in a virtual classroom we work on your homework where you can see step-by-step how to solve a problem. We will work at your pace and you can ask questions anytime.
